Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) as an FTP client not working

With the latest version of Internet Explorer 7 (and that basically moves forced aaarrrgg), those who used IE6 as a FTP client is subject to certain amendments and questions. Here are the highlights of the changes:

* The URL syntax with embedded username and password

(ie [ftp://usr:pswd] @ ftp.domain.com)

and similar syntax is no longer supported.

* To be considered a sign "..." There are a few shots more involved, and it will open a new window.

* In fact, IE7 does notSupport of a non-anonymous access to all ... You must open the site in Windows Explorer.

Solutions

1) Continue to open FTP sites with Internet Explorer 7, but if you "Login As ...", must follow these steps: Click on the page in the upper right, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. If the site opens in Windows Explorer, click File, under registration ... Enter your username and password, click on Login.

2) It is possible with a few clicks to use the FTP site directly in Windows Explorer.There are many ways of opening Explorer, like simply opening "My Computer" and enter your FTP URL into the address bar. As [ftp://ftp.sitename.com], so if you as an applicant for an open file, access will be ... Enter your username and password, log-on button, as described above.

3) Recommended solution - DO NOT USE IE or Explorer.

I never liked the use of Internet Explorer as FTP client. As an IT manager, the problems created by those who have multiple calls to my help desk than any other topic. IEonly for the FTP client worst imaginable. So what are the benefits? Well, there are many free FTP clients that do a much better job. The first two I recommend are FileZilla and CuteFTP Free Trial. If you need premium technical support, and are willing to pay for this, I recommend Ipswitch WS_FTP.
